The most painful thing about today, is that it's your birthday. I can't hug, kiss or spoil you. Today you would of turned 11. You were so excited about catching up to your sister, about being almost a pre-teen, or "tween" as you would like to correct me.
We would of celebrated this past weekend. Your birthdays were always memorable, because they were at the start of Spring. It was always outdoors, with the family, with piñatas & the whole works. Always on a beautiful sunny day. We still celebrated your life this past weekend, but this time it was at your memorial service. It was a beautiful service, baby girl. I hope you were able to see it all from up above. All the people that came out to show their love & support; friends, family, co-workers, your teachers & classmates. It was amazing, because you were amazing.
I made French toast for breakfast today, your favorite. We were sad, thinking of you. Just wishing you could be here to share. Later, we will visit you at the gardens. Your sisters want to bring you balloons & flowers. Then we're going to dinner and Daddy wants to buy a cake to celebrate you. I'll make sure it's chocolate, your favorite.
Also, got an email from your friend Anthony's mom, who said she ordered a bunch of "1 Direction" books for your class, to honor you for your birthday. She's even saving one for Bella. I know that would definitely make you happy. :)
There are still many good people left in this world honey. So many have reached out. It makes living away from you, more tolerable. You can also rest assure that your memory will live on, forever in our hearts & everyone else who knew you. Even people who didn't, because we will spread the word. We will let everyone know, about diabetes & how it took your life...in hopes that we can save other lives. In your honor my mouse.
Because I love you...
With all my heart.
Happy birthday,
Forever, your Mommy <3
****UPDATE****
